Becoming an Assessor for the CMMC program is a trusted and rewarding role in the CMMC Ecosystem. Assessors must start their journey by earning their Certified CMMC Professional. They must then pass their CCP exam and meet Suitability requirements. This class is the next step and is part of the eligibility process to sit the Certified CMMC Assessor Exam. Once you have passed the exam and participated in 3 assessments, you can be a Certified CMMC Assessor and eligible assessment team member.

State of CMMC Training

The curriculum has not been updated in recent years by the authorities.  Updated curriculum will not be available to the Authorized Training Providers until January of 2027.  Therefore, students take DELTA training after courses to address content that has changed since the time the curriculum was written.  The exam is based on the state of CMMC Program at the time the curriculum was written.

As of April 1, 2026, ISACA has become the new CAICO (CMMC Accreditation and Certification Issuing Organization) for the CMMC program.

This is a positive step for strengthening the CMMC Ecosystem, but it also means some processes have changed. We appreciate your patience as the ecosystem adapts.

We cover all 110 requirements in NIST SP 800-171 for CMMC L2 for the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), fifteen of which are also captured and required at Level 1 for the protection of Federal Contract Information (FCI).

Course Delivery (Live or Self-Pace, depending on registration choice)

• Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST daily, Lunch 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
• Sessions are recorded in Live Zoom and sent at the end of the day, Self-paced students are provided with all videos up front and must schedule time with their instructor at the end to ensure material was covered.
• Live Zoom students may make up missed class time up to 8 hours using daily recordings if needed.
• Live participation is strongly recommended.  We understand many can't get the time to attend for a week and so self-paced is the next best thing!  Resources are the same for both versions of the course.

‍Your CMMC Path

Before beginning the Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA) course, you must first complete the Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) certification.

The CCP is the foundation of the CMMC ecosystem, ensuring you understand:

Completing CCP is a required prerequisite for advancing to the CCA level.
